Four days of the event, one final result that far exceeded expectations: MIHAS 2026 officially recorded total sales of RM6.78 billion from 23-26 September 2026 — up RM730 million, or 12.0 percent, from RM6.05 billion recorded in 2025. This achievement also exceeded the initial RM5.0 billion target by RM1.78 billion, or a 35.5 percent increase over the set target.
For MATRADE as organiser, this result serves as strong affirmation of MIHAS's role as a key halal marketplace connecting Malaysian businesses with international markets, translating trade engagement into real commercial opportunities. MATRADE CEO Dato' Indera Abu Bakar Yusof said the RM6.78 billion achievement represents highly valuable opportunities. "With the integration of Agentic AI, MIHAS is evolving into a more connected and digitally enabled trade facilitation ecosystem, helping Malaysian companies identify potential buyers, build meaningful business relationships and pursue new export opportunities beyond the exhibition floor," he said.
This growth was underpinned by strong performance across MIHAS's key components. The International Sourcing Programme (INSP) generated RM4.02 billion, up from RM3.63 billion in 2025 — an increase of RM394.5 million, or 10.9 percent. Meanwhile, the MIHAS Exhibition itself recorded approximately RM1.99 billion, up from RM1.89 billion last year, an increase of RM103.9 million (5.5 percent). These two components show that MIHAS 2026's growth wasn't reliant on a single source, but was distributed evenly between structured business matching (INSP) and direct transactions on the exhibition floor.
On participation, MIHAS 2026 drew 69,104 visitors from 93 countries — up 37.3 percent from 50,340 visitors in 2025, and the highest figure since MIHAS first began in 2004. Exhibitors and INSP buyers themselves came from 58 countries, reinforcing MIHAS's position as a halal trade exposition with an ever-expanding global reach.
One achievement MATRADE particularly highlighted was the contribution of Malaysian SMEs, which recorded RM620 million in sales at MIHAS Exhibition 2026 — up 11.3 percent from RM557 million the previous year. SME participation itself jumped from 64 companies in 2021 to 339 companies in 2026, a 429.7 percent increase over six editions. "MIHAS 2026 demonstrates that the platform is not only growing in terms of sales, but is also creating greater opportunities for Malaysian businesses, particularly Small and Medium Enterprises," said Abu Bakar Yusof.
On technology, Agentic AI integration stands out as one of this year's most highlighted achievements. More than 22,000 AI-assisted business appointments were created throughout MIHAS 2026, with 324 of them recorded as generating RM28 million in sales. The AI platform itself is confirmed to keep operating until 2027, extending MIHAS's benefits well beyond its four days of physical operation — through the MADANI Digital Trade Platform, which provides continuous connectivity between Malaysian exporters and global buyers.
Overall, MIHAS 2026's results align with Malaysia's broader ambitions in the halal export sector. Malaysia's halal exports reached RM68.52 billion in 2025, up 10.9 percent from RM61.79 billion in 2024, with an RM80 billion target set under RMK13. For MATRADE, MIHAS 2026 proves that this exhibition platform has evolved beyond a conventional trade show — combining strong sales performance, growing international participation, SME development, and AI-powered business matching into one connected, digitally enabled trade facilitation ecosystem for Malaysian businesses. This result also sets a new benchmark that MATRADE will likely aim to surpass at future editions of MIHAS.
