Halal Indo 2026 Fosters Collaboration Between Industry Players and Creators to Build Indonesia’s Halal Ecosystem

Jakarta, August 5, 2026 – The halal lifestyle has transformed into an integrated economic ecosystem, as well as a symbol of proven quality and trust. Responding to this positive development, the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia, in collaboration with Dyandra Promosindo, initiated the Halal Leaders & Creator Gathering (4/8) at the Ministry of Industry office.

Carrying the spirit of “Connecting the People Behind Indonesia’s Halal Future”, the event was designed as a strategic dialogue platform for policymakers, industry players, communities, and content creators. This collaboration aims to build a solid joint movement to drive Indonesia’s halal lifestyle ecosystem to grow more inclusive and competitive.

Delivering his welcoming remarks, the Acting Director General of Small, Medium, and Multifarious Industries (IKMA) of the Ministry of Industry, Adie Rochmanto Pandiangan, outlined the immense potential of the national halal market, which must be optimized as an opportunity to strengthen domestic industrial structures. He stated that in 2023, Indonesia’s Muslim population reached 242.6 million, with an estimated spending potential exceeding IDR 11,182 trillion.

“With this potential, Indonesia possesses a strong foundation to leverage the growth of the halal industry, from small-scale enterprises to large corporations. This momentum can be utilized to increase domestic production capacity, strengthen the halal supply chain from upstream to downstream, and encourage the creation of value-added product innovations,” Adie expressed.

Furthermore, Adie highlighted the crucial role of creative talents in the digital era. According to him, content creators and influencers hold a vital key in shaping trends, preferences, and consumer trust, particularly in socializing the halal industry to a broader public.

“In developing the halal industry, creators play a significant role in translating various technical aspects of the industry into simple, creative, and relevant narratives. Thus, halal is not merely understood as regulatory compliance but also as an integral part of lifestyle. Through this event, we aim to converge industrial innovation with the creativity of creators,” he asserted.

Recognizing this responsibility, the role of content creators and media is now positioned as a crucial strategic partner for both the government and business players. Through the power of storytelling on digital platforms, they are expected to bridge the gap between the availability of halal-certified products and the buying rate among domestic consumers. The organic interactions built by creators are believed to alter public perception, positioning local halal products as trendy and relevant mainstream lifestyle choices, while simultaneously amplifying the spirit of the ‘Proud to Buy Local’ campaign.

Cumulatively, by the end of the second quarter of 2024, the Ministry of Industry recorded a positive achievement with the issuance of nearly 2.8 million halal certificates covering over 5.4 million products. Nevertheless, this high certification figure has not fully correlated with the domestic consumption rate of halal products. Therefore, the synergy fostered in this event is expected to echo the movement of loving local products, ensuring that the competitiveness of national halal brands increasingly dominates the market.

The highlight of the event continued with a talk show session titled “Unlocking the Future of Halal Lifestyle Economy: Where Policy, Innovation, Beauty, and Influence Create Business Opportunities”. This discussion explored the synergy among regulations, innovation, and digital strategies with expert panelists, including Dewi Setiawati (Center for Halal Industry Empowerment, Ministry of Industry), Temi Sumarlin (CEO of Scarf Media), and Findi Novia (Head of Brand Building at Wardah Beauty).

Translating the values of the halal lifestyle into experiences, the event also collaborated with the beauty brand, Wardah. Invited guests were encouraged to explore their health and style preferences through the Personal Color Analysis and Skin Check & Consultation facilities guided by expert consultants. The networking atmosphere among creators was further enriched by the presence of a Content Creator Spot, complete with a Professional Portrait Corner and a Creator Interview Corner to facilitate the production of content that inspires digital audiences.

As a closing, an exclusive Sneak Peek was presented regarding the grand vision and series of programs currently being prepared for the Halal Indo 2026 exhibition. The presentation revealed an expansion plan for the exhibition, occupying three main halls. The expo will not only feature an exclusive Modest Fashion area but will also encompass comprehensive innovations from the food and beverage, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and Muslim-friendly tourism sectors.

The collaborative spirit forged during this gathering serves as part of the Halal Indonesia International Industry Expo (Halal Indo 2026), scheduled to take place on September 24–27, 2026, at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD City.
