MIHAS 2026 is just days away. As an official media partner, Moslem Journey rounds up five things that make the 22nd edition of the Malaysia International Halal Showcase feel different from previous years, from technology and new initiatives, to the scale of trade it’s targeting.
1. AI-Powered Business Matching
MIHAS 2026 introduces Agentic AI capabilities that help match buyers and exhibitors more personally, based on product categories and business needs. The technology also provides real-time venue navigation and eight-language support for international delegates, making the exhibition floor experience expected to be far more efficient.
2. WiEX Debuts, a Stage for Women in Halal Business
This year marks the inaugural launch of WiEX (Women in Export) @ MIHAS, an initiative focused on boosting women-led business participation in the global halal economy. The dedicated WiEX pavilion houses 80 booths, 60 for Malaysian companies and the rest for international exhibitors, complete with dedicated business matching sessions and forum discussions.
3. Power Talk: Opening Session with Global Industry Leaders
Day one of MIHAS 2026 (23 September, 10:00 AM) opens with a flagship session called Power Talk, featuring speakers from DHL Express, UOB Malaysia, and Farm Fresh. The discussion will cover supply chain resilience, e-commerce fulfilment, trade financing, and strategies for navigating global geopolitical headwinds.
4. A Growing Scale of Trade
Through the International Sourcing Programme (INSP), MATRADE is targeting more than 500 international buyers from 55 economies, with total trade value for MIHAS 2026 projected at RM4.5 billion. Since its inception in 2004, INSP MIHAS has generated over RM20.62 billion in export sales for Malaysian businesses.
5. MIHAS Awards: A Celebration of the Halal Industry
15 awards will be presented across three flagship categories: MIHAS Excellence Awards, MIHAS Innovation, Sustainability & Digitalisation Awards, and the Anugerah Wira Ekonomi Wanita (Women Economic Hero Award). The awards ceremony will take place on 26 September 2026, coinciding with the final day of the exhibition.
These five things are just the beginning. Moslem Journey will continue following MIHAS 2026 developments live from MITEC, Kuala Lumpur. Stay tuned for full coverage.
